Due to Coronavirus, and the Government's advice, we have closed Morland House as holiday accommodation until further notice. We are taking bookings for the end of this year October onwards. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions.
Our prices are fixed whether you use all 19 beds, or fewer than that. If you fill the house, prices are less than £25.00 per person per night including weeks in high season.

Short breaks are welcome. A 3-night weekend (Friday to Monday) and a 4-night midweek (Monday to Friday) are the same price. Guests are welcome to stay only two nights at the weekend, but the price remains the same. We offer changeover only on Fridays and Mondays.
Fine cotton linen, towels, heating, electricity, coal and logs are all included. The only additional fee is for dogs (£20 each), which must be kept in a limited downstairs area.
Due to the size of the house, we need some time to prepare it properly for incoming guests. Therefore:
Guests can allocate bedrooms for their party in advance - see the floor plan and photos on the Bedrooms page - and then arrange bed configurations with the housekeeper, Jane Mandle.
Bookings are confirmed only by payment of a non-returnable deposit of around one third of the fee, for example £600 for a short break or £1000 for a full week. The balance is due one calendar month before arrival, after which it becomes non-returnable. In addition, a £300 bond must be paid with the balance; it will be returned in full if there are no breakages, extra cleaning or missing items.
Payment is preferred by online banking to the Morland House account, number 62442098 at Santander Bank, Penrith, sort code 09-01-28, using the reference provided on booking. If online banking is not possible, payment may be made by cheque to Mr F Markham, Greengill House, Morland, Penrith, Cumbria CA10 3AX.
We regret that credit and debit cards are not accepted.

If you decide not to come and use your booking at Morland House at this time, we will honour your booking and postpone it to a time suitable for both you and us. Our policy is your deposit is non-refundable.
