Dog-friendly holiday house

Dogs are welcome at Morland House and they, and their owners, will absolutely love exploring the four acres of gardens, which include the former kitchen garden,  the ‘beck’ with riverside walks, two bridges, a Victorian quarry garden complete with a grotto, lots of stone steps and large lawns.

The gardens are walled, so dogs can run safely – if they mind the flower beds! The private garden, reserved for guests only, is fenced so making a secure smaller area attached to the house.

After fully exploring the gardens, you can take your dog further afield – lakeside walks (and swims!) at Ullswater are only 20 minutes’ drive away, as are more challenging fell walks around the Lake District.

Please note:

  • Well-behaved dogs welcome.
  • Inside the house, we ask that dogs should be allowed only in specific areas downstairs. A safety gate can be used to keep dogs (and small children!) in the kitchen area.
  • Please clean up after your pets.
  • We make a small charge of £25 per dog.
